Relational Leadership Development
What drives the growth of a successful company/organisation?
An inclusive and engaged workforce who are supported to be innovative.
When people feel that they matter, they feel a part of something and this increases engagement. When people feel that what they do is important, they tend to want to do it well and this fuels innovation.
How do you ensure this happens?
The one key factor which ensures you will have the right conditions for the above to flourish is establishing leadership with strong relational and empathic skills throughout the organisation.
The challenge leaders face –
It’s not an easy job being a leader, and especially if you’ve had no specific training and support to develop your skills around relating; the relational dynamics are subtly different when you inhabit a leadership position and people are often left scratching their heads when they find themselves asking why and wondering what to do about it.
Traditional leadership development does pay some attention to what has historically been labelled ‘soft skills’ and a good leadership training will always dedicate a small portion of time to exploring the topics of empathy, communication and conflict. But, is this really enough when you consider that at least 85% of a leader’s role involves successfully establishing, nurturing, maintaining and navigating relationships?
Many of the clients who have approached me outside of their organisations think not and say that the level of support they have historically received to help them grow their relational skills has left them feeling under-resourced and looking for answers elsewhere.
What’s the solution?
I have developed my unique three-pronged approach to leadership development to bridge the skills gap that many leaders feel they face.
My approach is underpinned by psychotherapeutic understanding and processes and supports leaders to super-charge their relational skills and help them find ease in their work.
Working with me over a series of sessions you will grow your awareness of your own relational patterns of behaviour and the impact that these have in relationships, learn how to spot other people’s habitual relational patterns and get an understanding of where these behaviours originate and how they serve people in relationship. This will not only help you to grow your empathy but also support you to make better, more informed decisions about relating which in turn will help you find more ease in your role.
How does it work?
- Relational leadership development is available to both individuals and organisations who are seeking to strengthen the skills of their leaders.
- Sessions are tailored to the needs of the individual accessing the sessions creating a bespoke programme of self-development.
- The frequency of sessions and length of the programme is negotiated according to the needs of the individual and/or organisation.
- Sessions are delivered online or face to face (where practical) at a time, place and pace which suits your needs.
